Lot 1516 Japanese M32 Cavalry Sword

Machined blade with Katana profile. Saw service Russo-Japanese war, WW1, and WW2. 32.5" blade., single edge with long fuller below the flat spine. Earlier type with leather finger loop. (Missing) Steel guard has a checkered steel back strap and dove head pommel. Checkered wooden grips. Guard marked with either Tokyo, or Kokura arsenal having the 4 intertwined circles. Steel scabbard with locking catch. Ricasso serial number of "25015", matching number marked on the scabbard drag. Overall very good, bright blade, with very light signs of sharpening on the lower edge, no dents on the scabbard. Original Japanese sword, not the Chinese copy.
